Keywords Optimization

Worldwide web is a great source of knowledge. There are about 8 billions web pages representing their contents. People have very limited way to reach to their required pages in these vast amounts of websites. That source is Search Engine.

People use keywords or phrases when they want to find relevant websites containing useful information. Search Engines show up websites, highly optimized in keywords and its contents, in its search results.

When a webmaster designs his website and put the real and most useful stuff in its website. But if no one is going to read or get this stuff then what is the use for such hard work. This all happens due to lack of optimization of your website for its keywords which are relevant to the contents of respected pages.

Sometimes people are too lazy to think about most relevant and mostly used keywords and they quickly think about some normal keywords and optimize their whole website with them and later feel sorry for that. I think you should spend some time to take this step carefully.

If you are going to think that search engine’s robots are going to index all of your WebPages and extract all of the required keywords from different pages then probably you are wrong. If webmaster help is not available then search engines might not build the accurate summary of your website. They might consider your website for the category, for which your website is made for. You could as well lose many targeted visitors which could have turned later to your customers.

This does not mean that you should stuff your WebPages with keywords tightly. You must obviously optimize them and use different keywords related to your contents. These should be most common keywords used for your page. It is better if you would use clicktracker.com which would give you a rough idea about which keywords are going to your needs.

It is not good to use your primary keyword excessively throughout the page but however, you should use many different key words and phrases related to contents of your page. This would have two benefits. First you will attract more of your targeted visitors and second your primary keyword density would remain to a safe level in your webpage.

Now I will tell you, how you should use your main keyword in your webpage.

First it would be best if you use it in your page TITLE, there are many search engines which give great value to the title tag of a webpage. Especially with Google I have a very good experience. I have seen top results for many keywords and those entire websites on first page were having my keyword in their webpage title. So you should use it in your title tag in a decent way.

Next you should use all different keywords with your primary one in your Meta tag keywords and in Meta tag descriptions you should use your primary keyword once.

Please read Optimization For Search Engines to know how to optimize your website other than keywords.

Note: You have to be careful about using keywords in your Meta tag. I mean you should also use your meta tag keywords in your web page as well. Many search engines dislike this activity and may give less importance to a webpage. Please read Website Promotion Mistakes to know what steps you should not do while optimizing your website.

Next step is to use your primary keyword in your webpage’s main Heading (h1). Search engines give very much importance to the h1 headings, especially at the top of the page and then when you start writing body text of your page then in first 2 lines you should your primary keywords at least once and use other related keywords dispersed throughout the text below.

You should repeat this process for every page of your website and use 2 to 3 mostly used key words for every page and optimize you page for them. Try to do it in such a pattern that keywords should not compete with keywords of other pages, but try to maintain resemblance between these keywords.

In choosing keywords for your website try not to choose those keywords which are very competitive such as mp3, books, travel, free e.t.c however what you should do is to dig down further so that you can get better and more relevant keywords for your webpage.

You should also use one of most working techniques. That is to use special effects like bold, italics or underline. These are used to emphasize some thing particular. I would suggest you to make your keywords more important, try to make them bold or italic or even link them to particular web page. You should be careful while using this technique because if you use it excessively, you may get hurt. So I suggest you to use this technique in natural tone of website in such a way that either visitor or search engine don’t dislike this change.

I hope you would get the fact that optimizing your WebPages for your related keywords will not only give you a nice traffic as well as these effects will stay longer and your traffic will keep on increasing throughout the time.
